Former presidential candidate and business man Steve Forbs is going to speak in Fort Smith on Feb. 8. The event is the Fort Smith Regional Chamber of Commerce’s annual meeting at the convention center here.
Forbes was a republican candidate for president in 1996 and 2000. He is said by Campaignmoney.com to be the “11th most important contributor of political funds in the United States, for donations from 1999 to 2011.”
He made 15 donations all together in that time period, and the total amount was over $7 million. The website points out most of that money was to fund his own 2000 presidential campaign.
Forbes is the CEO of Forbes Inc., and editor-in-chief of its magazine Forbes.
The Chamber of Commerce can be applauded for bringing in a man with Forbes’ experience to speak. No matter if you’re a republican or a democrat, we can all probably learn something from a guy who obviously is a good business man.
The announcement of the event on SWTimes.com doesn’t say what Forbes will be talking about, but it should be interesting.
The event will happen at 11:30 a.m. Tickets cost $40 per person. To reserve tickets, call the chamber at (479) 783-3111 or e-mail to Whitney Yoder at whitney@fortsmithchamber.com.
Learn all you can. Your business depends on it.
